 Pep Guardiola is a Spanish professional football manager and former player. He is widely considered one of the greatest football managers of all time. Guardiola was born on January 18, 1971, in Santpedor, Spain. As a player, he had a successful career as a midfielder, primarily playing for Barcelona. He won numerous titles with Barcelona, including the UEFA Champions League, La Liga, and the Copa del Rey.


After retiring as a player, Guardiola transitioned into coaching and began his managerial career with Barcelona B. He later became the senior team manager in 2008. Under Guardiola's leadership, Barcelona achieved unprecedented success, winning numerous domestic and international titles, including three consecutive La Liga titles and two UEFA Champions League titles.


Guardiola's coaching philosophy is characterized by his emphasis on possession-based, attacking football, popularly known as "tiki-taka." His teams are known for their quick, intricate passing and high pressing style of play. Guardiola is also known for his meticulous attention to detail and tactical astuteness.


After leaving Barcelona in 2012, Guardiola went on to manage Bayern Munich in Germany, achieving further success by winning three consecutive Bundesliga titles. He then took over as the manager of Manchester City in 2016, where he has continued to achieve success, winning multiple Premier League titles and domestic cups.
